Match Report
Bala 28 - 32 Yr Wyddgrug (H)
Report
If only the game had finished after 80 minutes but for the second week in succession Bala lost in injury time. In truth Bala should have won the game after taking the game to the opposition, they started on fire and were 13-0 up after 10 minutes through 1 try each for George Davies, and Sion Lynch, Elgan Jones also kicked a penalty. Mold replied before half time with 2 penalties from Dan Edmunds but Bala once again scored another try through Euros Jones, but Mold went down to 14 men due to a sin binning of their flanker and the score at half time was 18-6 to Bala. The second half started similar to the first and Bala once again scored a try through Arfon Rowlands and at this stage they led 23-6, but for some reason they eased up thinking the game was won. Mold thought otherwise and put Bala under some pressure and they were rewarded by scoring 2 tries which were both converted to cut Balas lead to 23-20. Bala recovered and they once again upped their game, and George Davies went over for a try to extend the lead to 28-20. Mold came back once again and minutes before the 80 minutes were up they had a penalty which hit the post and due to Bala not being more aware they conceded a 5 meter scrum, and from this scrum Mold were awarded a free kick which they took quickly and they scored a try which was converted and this made the score 28-27 to Bala, and at this time the 80 minutes were up, but the ref played on and even though Bala looked to be holding Mold comfortable in injury time their worse fears were realised when a mistake allowed the Mold winger to go over for a try in the 6 minutes of injury time and Bala only had time kick off before the game ended. A disappointing defeat but the team now have to pick themselves up and look forward to next weeks game against Ruthin who are second in the league, and your support would be appreciated in the fight for survival from the dreaded relegation, so please turn up and support the team, 1430 K.O.
