| With Ruthin going for the league and needing a win bonus point a tough game was expected and so it turned out to be. The first half was an evenly contested game with Ruthin taking the lead with a try but straight from the kick off Meilir Fon went on a run and he set up a ruck which saw the ball go along the backs for John Emrys to go over to score a try in the corner and this well converted by Elgan Jones but by half time Ruthin had taken the lead through a penalty and the score at half time was 8 7 to Ruthin.
Ruthin dominated most of the second half and going into the last five minutes they had scored a further 2 tries and a penalty to lead 20 7 but Bala pushed in the final minutes to gain a losing bonus point but when they looked likely to score the Ruthin full back intercepted the ball and ran the whole length of the pitch to score a try which gave them a bonus point, the final whistle went after the conversion was missed.
